Staff Coach
Jovan Gorman-Carter serves as a Staff Coach for Tonka United, bringing a wide-ranging soccer background as a player, coach, and leader. Originally from Minneapolis, Minnesota, Jovan has experience across youth, high school, club, collegiate, amateur, semi-professional, and international soccer environments.
Jovan’s playing career includes time at the NCAA Division I, NCAA Division III, NPSL, UPSL, and international club levels. His experience has taken him from Creighton University and St. Olaf College to clubs in Brazil, Spain, and Minnesota. He was part of a Creighton University team that won the Big East Conference Championship and reached the NCAA National Tournament Quarterfinals.
As a coach, Jovan has worked with players across multiple levels of the game, including youth development, club, high school, and men’s soccer. His coaching background includes Shakopee Soccer Club, Minnesota United’s Youth Development Program, Watertown Mayer High School, ISSE, and Shakopee UPSL.
