Passionate, driven, and deeply committed to athlete development, Diego has spent the last four years as a dedicated coach at Tonka United. Originally born in Ecuador, Diego moved to Minnesota and has played soccer across the Twin Cities his entire life, bringing a rich, lifelong perspective of the local soccer landscape to the club. During his tenure with Tonka United, Diego has demonstrated immense personal and professional growth, constantly seeking out innovative training methodologies to elevate the program.

To further his impact on the club, Diego has joined the leadership team to help promote the overall player experience. As a veteran full time coach, he directly mentors and supports the development of 3 newer full time coaches at the club. In this role, he focuses on creating a positive, high-quality environment where athletes can thrive both on and off the field. By implementing strategic development initiatives and supporting fellow coaches, Diego ensures that every player at Tonka United has access to the resources, mentorship, and opportunities needed to succeed.
