Tonka United Newsletter, Volume 6
Club Communications | March 19, 2021
Spring technically begins tomorrow, however the snippets and samplings Mother Nature has sprinkled in preview have been wonderful! No one’s complaining over here as the latest snowfall rapidly melts. Consider it a lovely quencher for the soccer fields.
Speaking of meltdowns, has anyone else been on the emotional roller coaster that is THIS PANDEMIC? Phew-wee! Many of our kids are in yet another phase of learning in school with more adjusting and adaptation being required of us all. There is excitement for the upcoming Spring Break. There is anticipation to be outdoors for the spring/summer playing season. Emotions are big. Please be patient - with yourself & others. There can be a “let down” response or delayed reaction to the stresses, excitement and anticipation, and for some (kids AND adults) it may come out a little sideways. So if you catch yourself taking a spin on that roller coaster or perhaps you are supporting someone that is still a little dizzy from their ride, simply stop - close your eyes - take a breath - and remind yourself that we are all here, part of this soccer community, to HAVE FUN!
Patience, grace, understanding and respect can make all the difference!
The month of April means the start of outdoor play. We need help getting all those fields ready! We are putting out an ALL CALL for volunteers to help ready the fields at MMW. Save the date of April 10th at 1:00pm, and watch your email inbox closely for an electronic signup sheet coming soon. Start recruiting your friends and teammates and come be a proud part of the field set-up team!
