GREETINGS:

Happy New Year and welcome back! We hope you enjoyed your break relaxing, spending time with family & friends, and gearing up for an exciting winter of indoor soccer. We are happy to be back and looking forward to a successful 2022!

CLUB ANNOUNCEMENTS:

COVID-19

Covid-19 is still an issue in our community at large. Please be extra diligent with monitoring for symptoms. If your player has ANY symptoms, please keep them home and out of training or clinics/camps.

All Covid-19 positive cases need to be reported FIRST to Bobbi Hoebelheinrich at bobbi@tonkaunited.org. She will assist families in determining next steps and what quarantine situations apply to help keep teammates and coaches healthy and safe. You do not need to notify your coach, your manager or program administrator - BOBBI IS YOUR FIRST CONTACT PERSON AT TONKA UNITED FOR ALL THINGS COVID-19 RELATED!

For the latest Tonka United Covid-19 protocol guidelines and any specific facility requirements, please visit the COVID-19 tab on our website.

COMPETITIVE PROGRAM:

Winter trainings and league play have begun. Winter camps started this week. There is a lot happening in the way of soccer activites and it's -12 degress outside. Our families and players are excited about playing soccer, there is no doubt about it. So, we are excited to say that summer planning is underway and we will have our 2022 Summer Camp information up on the website in the next few weeks with registration opening the last week of January. Nothing like planning out your schedule for June and July to take your mind of the current weather situation.

TONKA UNITED PITCH-IN PROGRAM

We are excited to introduce a new team service project program within the Tonka United Competitive Program, PITCH-IN.

This service program provides an opportunity for Tonka United players to give back to their community and join together as a team off the field. Each Competitive team will have a designated Service Coordinator Volunteer.

Find out more about this exciting new initiative on our website HERE.

COMMUNITY HIGHLIGHTS:

Before the winter break, the 2011Girls Academy 1 team celebrated with a Secret Santa gift exchange.

MNDOT HWY 7 STUDY

The Minnesota Department of Transportation is studying Hwy 7 between Hwy 100 in St. Louis Park and Carver Co. Rd. 33 in Hollywood Twp to identify needed safety improvements. The study includes evaluating Hwy 7 intersections and other safety aspects on this section of highway. As a majority of this portion of the highway runs directly through the heart of our communities, we are providing you with the opportunity to share your comments and/or concerns with MnDOT.

HERE is a link to information about the study and HERE is a link to an interactive map to provide your feedback on specific intersections.
