Tonka United Newletter, Volume 2

Club Communications | January 22, 2021

Hello Tonka United! We are off and running into 2021 and a winter season of soccer – so far, so good! Although the health & safety protocols have changed the appearance and logistics of how we gather, they certainly have NOT changed the passion our players and families have for the game of soccer! The flexibility and adaptability – from families and players alike – is remarkable and appreciated as we all work together to navigate through this ever-changing landscape.

“Change is inevitable. Change is constant.” – Benjamin Disraeli

With guidelines around the health & safety protocols changing by, what feels like, the hour, we are so grateful for our community that is understanding, patient and fluid right along with us. With a few weeks of winter trainings behind us, we are getting into a groove.

As Winter League & NPL games begin, please remember that each indoor facility has their own rules about spectators. Please be sure to check with your Team Manager prior to any games.

Reminder to those families that have trainings at the Tonka Dome at Minnetonka High School, to please follow the traffic flow that was introduced a few weeks back. U15 and older: please drop-off, pick-up and park up by Veterans Memorial Baseball Field. These older players will use the steps and crosswalk to the track. U14 and younger: please drop-off and pick-up down the hill by the dome entrance. Parking down the hill is reserved for Tonka United coaches & volunteers and dome staff.

PreSeason Skills Clinic Registration is OPEN! Head over to the Tonka United website for details and registration! This is a great opportunity for our youngest players to have a fun on the indoor turf before they head outside for the Spring/Summer season.

The 2021 Spring/Summer Registration is also OPEN! Check in with your friends and neighbors and coordinate your registrations. ONE MUTUAL friend request is allowed on the registration form. More info can be found HERE.

Join us in welcoming Kelly Loch to our Tonka United team. She has been involved with Tonka United for over 7 years in various capacities and now continues to collaborate with our families and staff in an administrative function as our Marketing & Communications Director and Recreation Coordinator.

Drinking water is most often the best, easiest, and cost-effective way to stay hydrated and rehydrate. Even in the winter months, especially in Minnesota with cold & dry air, it is important to drink plenty of water daily. The key is to sip slow and often – before you get thirsty.
