Club Communications | August 20, 2021

Welcome to the Tonka United 2021 - 2022 soccer season. We are excited to see all the returning players & families and warmly welcome those that are new to our club. In addition to new players & families, we proudly added new staff over the summer. We are thrilled to begin this season with such a strong and experienced leadership team. Find our newest staff members on the PROFESSIONAL STAFF page of the Tonka United website and be sure to say, “Hi!” and introduce yourself to them out on the fields this fall!

This is an exciting time of the year! The Rec program is rolling with their fall season - with a record number of participants in the  fall season. The Competitive program is gearing up to kick off their fall season. The high school players (and coaches) have made it through their first week as well. Simply put - lots of soccer happening at every step in the pathway!

Most U9 - U14 teams start training next week! The fall season game schedules will also be out next week. It’s all happening quickly and the fall season always seems to fly by so fast. With all the information that tends to come at families like rapid fire, here are a just couple quick reminders:

  • Use your TeamSnap account to mark availability for all events (trainings, games, meetings, tournaments, etc.) - and keep it updated.
  • IF you need any uniform pieces for the fall, please get those ordered ASAP as there is a massive delay across the country due to supply chain issues. Please reference the specific uniform email you received on August 9th for detailed ordering instructions.
  • Winter schedules will not be available until October.

2021 U9/U10 Team Managers Meeting

Huge HIGH FIVE to these amazing humans for volunteering as Team Managers.

LITTLE JUNIORS (PreK - 2nd grade) & RECREATIONAL (3rd - 8th grade) PROGRAM:

The 2021 Fall season started this week. One week down - seven weeks to go - in our eight week season. There are a few select spots open on teams in almost every age group so let your friends and neighbors know. The Rec program is also experiencing delays with uniform orders so please do your best to wear matching blue or red tops and blue shorts. All games are posted in Demosphere and can be accessed via the App or by logging in to your household account on the Tonka United website.
Reach out to Recreation Coordinator, Kelly Loch, if you have questions -

Registration is OPEN for the Junior Development Fall 2021 Skills Clinics until AUGUST 31st!

This is an opportunity to provide our Junior Development players with MORE! In addition to the season league games, your players will be working with Tonka United staff and coaches to focus on more technical skills and individual development in a fun, creative and engaging environment.

If your child is not currently playing in a fall soccer league, we welcome your player to use this opportunity to explore soccer skills in a learning environment, absent of full competitive games. Small sided games as well as individual technical work will build the skills and confidence your player needs to take it to the next level.

Open to players going into 1st and 2nd grade this FALL 2021. More information on dates, times, and location can be found on the Tonka United website - JUNIOR DEVELOPMENT FALL 2021 SKILLS CLINICS

All players, coaches, referees, and spectators should complete the following symptom screening exercise prior to attending any training, game, or event:

This time of year is mix of beautiful days, rain & storms. Plan on playing unless you hear from us or your coach.  If you are on turf, you will play unless there is lightning. Grass, it will depend on the amount of rain we have had (or are having). Each location can differ as we do not control all of the fields and each city or school district will let us know if things are open or closed. Many times we do not know until later in the day. Please have patience as we promise to let you know as soon as we do. Watch your emails, TeamSnap alerts and Tonka United social media for updates!

Reminder: Please look around your area before you leave the fields (trainings or games). Clean up your trash. Recycle your bottles. Grab all of your belongings!

Does your soccer player have passions outside of soccer? Is your soccer family involved in community service? Show us what else you do when you are not playing soccer! We want to share with our entire community. SHOW and TELL time! Email your pictures, videos, articles, etc. with a brief explanation to Kelly Loch -

Learn more about appropriate sideline behavior expectations and TAKE THE PLEDGE! Be part of the movement to improve the youth soccer sidelines - making the entire game experience more enjoyable for players, parents, coaches and referees - starting on our own fields and within our own community.
