Traveling & Recreational Referee Field TrainingYou must be USSF certified and field trained by Tonka United assignors to work our games. Tonka United will hold three Field Experience Training sessions. All referees new to Tonka United or with less than three years referee experience MUST ATTEND one field training session in order to be assigned to games. The 1½ hour field training sessions will be held at Freeman Park in April. There will be an administration meeting followed by an hour of on-field training by experienced Tonka United referees. Recreation league scrimmages will be held for training purposes. The basic procedures at Tonka United of how to start and call a game will be reviewed. Experienced referee mentors will attend all recreational games over the first half of the season for additional help.
Rec Referee Field Training
Dates: Monday April 26th and Tuesday April 27th | 6:00-8:00 p.m.
Referees need only attend one session. Referees should wear their uniforms and bring a whistle. We will review administrative items, rec rules and practice during scrimmages. Game schedules will be available on GameOfficials.net at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday April 29. Please Note: Only a limited number of weeks at a time will be posted to ensure that most have an opportunity to work games. Referees with 3 years of experience or less should plan on attending. Referees who plan on attending the travel field training do not have to attend this training. If you have any questions, contact referee@tonkaunited.org.
