Tonka United Serves Globally

Tonka United Serves

In January 2018 a group of U16/17 Tonka United soccer players will be traveling to Nicaragua to conduct a 3-day soccer camp for teen girls. What started as a Girl Scout Gold Award project collecting “retired” Tonka United uniforms and sending them to countries in need, has grown to include starting a new girls’ team and supplying them with uniforms, equipment and goals to be used by the entire community; a day camp for elementary students; and an exhibition match at the end of the week where everyone can show off their new skills. The Tonka girls have been communicating with their Nicaraguan counterparts via Skype and the girls are excited to finally meet each other in person. The Tonka Girls will be staying with local families during the trip but there still costs they need to meet.

If you would like to support the Goals For Girls Project through a tax deductible donation email:

They will also be wrapping gifts outside of Barnes & Noble Eden Prairie Center on Friday from 10-12 to help raise funds so get your gifts wrapped and support a good cause!

The girls participating are:

Grace Robinson
Sarah Schubbe
Katelyn Hermanson

And representing the guys...
